We use a variety of teaching methods known in the teaching profession as audio-visual, or direct technique-structured drills, practice in dialogues and role-playing. The Center is located in a quiet residential district of Cuernavaca - an atmosphere conducive to study. Seventy spacious classrooms within four buildings and a language laboratory give the Center the only campus in Cuernavaca specifically designed for language instruction. Landscaped grounds, fountains, swimming pools, and an outdoor patio/cafe, a restaurant and a computer center with more than 70 computers for use by the students contribute toward it being called "most attractive learning center in Cuernavaca". The city of Cuernavaca is located in a pleasant valley one and half hours south of Mexico City in the state of Morelos. This puts the student within easy reach of the cultural richness and excitement of the capital. Acapulco, Oaxaca, Puebla and Taxco are also easy to reach from Cuernavaca. Cuernavaca has a population of about 900,000 permanent residents. Because of its year-round temperature (average 75) and its lush and beautiful flora, Cuernavaca is known as the "City of Eternal Spring." There is little crime, the people are friendly and life is relaxed and "easy going". Yet, the main square is surrounded by sidewalk cafes, restaurants, bookstores and is always alive. Street musicians (mariachis) play and the outdoor markets draw you back again and again. Professional staff members with expertise in a particular area present lectures on various subjects. Topics change every two weeks. Courses offered include:
A minimum course of two weeks is required however there is no maximum. Beginners, to attain proficiency, should allow three to six weeks. Four campuses are open: - our year round main campus, - our summer campus for advanced students, - our summer campus for high school students, - our children's summer program (when accompanied by parents who are studying).

HOUSING & ACCOMODATIONS - 2006 |
Middle class Mexican families live a rather spartan life when compared with North American families. Houses are smaller and less luxurious, and there are fewer dishwashers or dryers however many families have full-time servants. If you have a spirit of adventure and an interest in people, living with a family is the ideal way to learn Spanish in the shortest possible time. All plans include three meals daily. If the student prefers more privacy we suggest our Student Residence which offers all the amenities of Plan A with the privacy of a hotel. We suggest a minimum stay of 2 weeks.
GENERAL INFORMATION |
The center is staffed by experienced instructors born in Mexico. Dedicated professionals deliver a meticulously structured and innovative language program. They also participate in the Center's social and cultural programs. All are certifies by the Ministry of Education to teach Spanish to foreign students.
There is a doctor on the campus available at no extra charge.
An Orientation session is held every Saturday at 10:00. The session is important and we recommend that students arrive in Cuernavaca on Thursdays or Fridays. Students are tested to determine their level of Spanish before being assigned to a group of five. They are also briefed on the programs, on Cuernavaca and living with a Mexican family.
A pre-programmed tape cassette system and audio facilities in the language laboratory enable students to improve their pronunciation and "educate their ears" to Spanish. Students are also encouraged to bring their own tape recorders to class for taping the sessions.
Should a student wish transportation from a flight or hotel in Mexico City we can arrange for a driver pick-up transfer directly to the family accommodation: $80 each way for one person, $90 each way for two persons going to or from the same address in Cuernavaca. The o.w. cost for 3-7 people in a private van is $120 each way to and from the same address in Cuernavaca. A frequent public bus service (Pullman de Morelos) is $11 each way from the Mexico City International Airport to the public bus terminal in Cuernavaca.
