Paris has always been a hive of artistic and intellectual activity with its 134 museums, 170 theaters, world-famous universities and cultural festivals, which take place all year round. The gardens and woods of Paris are the largest in Europe: 2200 hectares of green areas including more than 400 parks, gardens and walks. THE SCHOOL - IN THE HEART OF PARIS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() ACCORD language school is located in the heart of Paris, on the "Grands Boulevards", just a few minutes walk from the Louvre, the Opera, the Georges Pompidou Centre (Beaubourg) and the famous grands Magasins. This colorful area of Paris has become famous all over the world as it has often been used as a film location. Indeed, it continues to be a source of inspiration for the film industry. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
ACCORD is situated on the second floor of a typical Parisian building. There are 20 classrooms all equipped with audio-visual material. At the Cafeteria students can find a large selection of daily papers and magazines in French, as well as the cultural program produced by the school. We also have a cyber-cafeteria with multimedia computers and Internet access. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Students are offered language courses, accommodation (with half-board every day) on the same Campus. The St. Nicolas Campus is on the edge of Paris, near the Porte de Versailles. The Campus is open from July to August. Accommodations in single or double rooms with showers and toilets on each floor. At the Campus": TV Room, Cyber-Cafeteria with free and unlimited Internet access, Self-service Restaurant and a Cafeteria. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
At the St. Nicolas Campus parents can find French Language courses for their teens. The summer ACCORD school for teens is on the edge of Paris near the Porte de Versailles. The school is open from July to August. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Students are offered full board and room plus daily language lessons and a full program of leisure activities (sports and culture/tourism). Le Rocheton Residence is 60 min. outside of Paris. The Bois d' Auteuil Campus is 45 min. outside of Paris. The programs for teens are "all inclusive" with 24 hour supervision. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

OUR TEACHING METHOD | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
At ACCORD we aim to help you communicate efficiently and effectively in French. To achieve this you need not only a strong command of the language, but also an in-depth understanding of French culture. For this reason students at ACCORD practice their language skills in an authentic and communicative environment. All four skills are used: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In 1988 ACCORD launched its very own theater workshop (the first of its kind in France) as part of a French language training course. The workshop aims to build up your confidence and fluency by placing an emphasis on the use of gesture and intonation. You can take part in the workshop one morning a week and it forms an integral part of the intensive courses. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
All the teachers at ACCORD are qualified in teaching French as a Foreign Language and experienced in teaching students from all over the world. All teachers have at least one university degree: MBA, DEA, PHD. They continually create and update teaching materials, keeping their students' language needs in mind at all times. They are involved in research projects and in developing our teaching material. ACCORD employs full-time administrative staff dedicated to academics, accommodation, cultural activities and bookings. ACCORD is registered at the Academy of Paris as a Private Institute of High Education and is associated with the University of Paris V and Paris VII. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
There are 8 language levels at ACCORD ranging from complete beginner to advanced. You can join a class at your level at any time during the year. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
On the first Monday students go through an oral and a written test in order to ascertain their level of French. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Following a French course at the ACCORD Summer Campus means spending an unforgettable holiday in one of the most prestigious capital cities in the world, while studying the language of Victor Hugo and Yves Montand. You will share the experience with students coming from all over the world. You can stay on campus in a single or double room with bathrooms facilities on each floor. These summer campus' include housing in large country residences with class rooms, accommodations and restaurant/cafe facilities in the same building which are surrounded by extensive grounds in the rural countryside. The Study Plans feature quality teaching, supervised sports and excursions, comfort, hygiene and healthy food. Airport "pick-up" services are available for arrivals and departures. All students are given placement tests upon arrival and placed in classes of a max. of 15 students of equal experience in French. We can provide single and double rooms, with half-board (breakfast and evening meal) or breakfast only. All our host-families are carefully selected and located in Paris. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The high quality C.I.S.P. RAVEL residence (Centre International de Sejour de Paris) is ACCORD's partner residence and is situated 6 rue Maurice Ravel, between Porte de Vincennes and Porte Doree, near the Bois de Vincennes and the Daumesnil lake. The residence comprises classrooms, a cafeteria, a self-service restaurant and a TV-area. Accommodation is provided in single, double or triple rooms with half-board only. All rooms are equipped with shower, toilette and telephone. Beds are changed every week. Towels are not provided. ACCORD give students free of charge two tickets giving access to the Olympic swimming-pool situated by the residence.
